Popcorn Can Prevent Cancer

Processed snack foods corn known as popcorn, it has the equivalent antioxidant content of fruits and vegetables.

That is, the habit of eating snacks on popcorn while watching a movie is a healthy habit.

 

A recent study conducted at the University of Scranton, Pennsylvania, found that eating popcorn can mecegah cancer. But with the record, popcorn is popcorn healthy who were not given extra taste like sugar, cheese, chocolate and others.

Popcorn contains polyphenols, the antioxidants that play a role in maintaining a healthy body. Polyphenol commonly found in many fruits and vegetables such as berries, walnuts, olive oil, wine and tea.

Types of antioxidants contained in these foods proven to help fight free radicals, which cause damage to cells and tissues. Polyphenols are antioxidants which have 10 times more potent effects when compared with the benefits of vitamins C and E.

Popcorn and some types of cereal is a source of polyphenol-rich foods.

Please note that whole-grain cereals that have at least a processing contain more antioxidant. While popcorn, a snack food with highest levels of polyphenols.

This study also found that the general warm food consumed as a breakfast such as porridge oats, apparently containing low levels of polyphenols
