How Aging Affects our Skin?

With the aging various changes in the cell activity and structure of epidermis, dermis and hypodermis the three skin layers affects the appearance of the surface of skin as given below:
The epidermis:
With the growing age rate, at which old cells are removed with replacement of new cells gets slower. In case there is a bit loss of skin tissue, and newer cells taking place at the epidermis are some what have haphazard growth. As a result the skin reflects creasing and wrinkling on it’s surface.
The Dermis:
With old age the replacement of protein of the collagen becomes slow, this causes stiffening of the skin due to loss in flexibility, besides there is brittleness of the elastin fibers. The skin starts sagging due to inability pace with the body’s movement.
The Hypodermis:
There is decrease of the fat tissue in this layer in an uneven manner. The situation produces comparative instability in the fibers connecting the muscles underneath. Besides there is reduction in the muscle mass has an effect of increased sagging of skin.
Changes in Sweat & Sebaceous Glands:
With aging there are changes in the activity of sweat and sebaceous glands. There is slowing of activity resulting in decreased moisture present on the skin surface marked with reduction of oil on the skin.
These changes collectively affect appearance of the face with sinking of cheeks, wrinkles evident on the forehead. There is sagging of skin under eyes. The chin is relatively less pointed.
Observing Aging Affects on Skin:
The surface of skin present at the back of hands and face are the first to exhibit aging signs, which can be prevented by taking good care as a result of which the skin retains it’s youthful tone.
With the growing age, the face skin starts looking dry. In case one spends lot of time in the bright sunshine, it acquires leathery surface. Often the skin shows up brown spots, appearing of wrinkles. All these aging signs can be reduced to a great extent by good skin care.
